| Dr. Domenico Ricucci Domenico Ricucci in Tallinn 2026 Dr. Domenico Ricucci received his degree in General Medicine from "La Sapienza" University of Rome in 1982, and his DDS from the same University in 1985. Since then on he has maintained private dental practices limited to endodontics. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Ricucci was Professor of Cariology at "Magna Graecia" University of Catanzaro, Italy in 2002 -2003. He served in the Research Committee of the European Society of Endodontology from 1999 to 2005. Dr. Ricucci's primary research interest relates to pulpal and periapical tissue reactions to caries and treatment procedures, vital pulp therapy (VPT), biofilms in endodontic infections, etiology of RTC treatment failure, pulp regeneration/revascularization. Since 1998 he has run his own histology laboratory and has developed considerable skills in hard tissue preparations for light microscopy. Dr Ricucci has published more than 100 papers and has lectured both nationally and internationally. He has authored the Textbook and Atlas "Endodontology". An integrated biological and clinical view". He has also a founder and a scientific director of the international endodontic project Endo Sapiens. |
| Deep Carious Lesions: Hands-on Hands-on by Domenico Ricucci in Tallinn 2026 This course provides an overview of tissue responses to deep carious lesions, integrating recent literature with extensive histological evidence. The diagnostic criteria for distinguishing reversible from irreversible pulp inflammation will be critically discussed, emphasizing current clinical and biological perspectives. Although pulpectomy is still widely considered the standard approach for teeth diagnosed with irreversible pulpitis, histopathologic data suggest that it is often possible to identify the front of infection clinically, selectively remove only the diseased or infected tissue through a pulpotomy procedure, and protect the remaining healthy pulp with biocompatible and potentially bioactive materials. These concepts will be analyzed in depth. Registration --> |
| Direct Pulp Capping (DPC) or Partial Pulpotomy: Hands-on Hands-on by Domenico Ricucci in Tallinn 2026 The principles guiding the depth of caries excavation will be reviewed. Didactic videos will illustrate step-by-step procedures for deep caries excavation and the clinical management of pulp exposure through Direct Pulp Capping (DPC) or Partial Pulpotomy. Each participant will perform three simulated treatments on newly developed plastic teeth specifically designed for Vital Pulp Therapy: one Direct Pulp Capping, one Partial Pulpotomy, and one full (pulp chamber) Pulpotomy.
